The Purchasing Agent will coordinate the purchasing and inventory control activities and operations of a medical supply distribution center. Reporting to the Operations Director, this position prepares and issues purchase orders. The Purchasing Agent will oversee the distribution centers purchasing; reviewing all purchase requisitions or orders for approval and compliance; oversee inventory receipts and maintain physical inventory counts.
To qualify, candidates must possess the following:
- The successful candidate will have a combination of education, training and experience necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- The ideal candidate will have four years of increasingly responsible experience in purchasing and procurement including one year of lead responsibility, or two years technical experience supporting a purchasing function that includes vendor contact and buying, and 60 semester college units in a related field.
- Certification as a purchasing professional (e.g. CPM,) and experience in is desirable.
- Medical supply contract experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability with Excel and MS Office is required.
